Modern Mona Lisa by Olivia

Woke up early today and went to get bagels.  A little bit disappointed lately with the quality of the bagels in Holbrook…they have been dry and overcooked.  With Kyle having practice, Sue and Luke going to church, I was the only one left in the house when Gavin left to go back up to college.  I am going to miss him, but am coming to grips with him being a man, and take comfort in knowing how much he loves being at Hartwick.

Between, the morning and the blog, were a couple of soccer matches, with Luke scoring a goal, the 2^nd in 2 games.  Kyle played a pretty weak team tonight and his team ended up scoring like 20 goals, 4 of them off the foot of Kyle.  I struggled to complete 3 miles on my run this morning.

How is it that some people in history hold so many talents, and in this case, many inventions as well.  It is the artwork that he is most famous for.  Me, I am no artist, and hold very little talent in even sketching.  I recall playing a game called Pictionary, where you and partner had to draw and guess what the drawing is.  Let’s just say my stick figures were Geico like…so lame, a caveman can do it…..

While watching the soccer match tonight at the HS, I was the center of attention for some reason…at least for Olivia, an adorable 5 year old sister of one of the boys on the team.  Seems she had just come from Disney on Ice, and she wanted to share her happiness.  Well, let me tell you how creative a 5 year old can be when they get their hands on an iPhone 4S.  Playing games, tinkering with Apps, and it seems I became the target of her favorite APP, CAMWOW !

Long story short, she took tons of photos, and became obsessed with the mole on my cheek.  While not as glamorous as Marilyn Monroe or Madonna, it must have made me endearing to Olivia.  Soon as I told her that the close-ups of it are gross, she had to show them off and take more, and more, and more.

One of our favorite pics, was the one that makes me look more like Mario or Luigi on Nintendo, than my endearing self.
